Isabelle Mercier is one of the few ladies in the tournament circuit and is a very keen poker player. Known as Isabelle “No Mercy” Mercier – Isabelle Mercier was born in Victoriaville, Quebec (Canada) in 1975. She has a Law Degree from the University of Montreal. She practices her profession for about a year and then she moved to Paris, France. There she attended the Sorbonne University because she wanted to receive a Masters degree in International Law.
But her plans failed because she started working as a poker room manager at the Aviation Club de France. This enabled her to learn the game and gain experience from both sides of the table. For good or bad, she left the law degree and started dealing and playing poker. After several years at the poker table I am sure that Isabelle Mercier honed her skills.
Isabelle is a fantastic woman, who is completely devoted to the poker game. When she was working in the Aviation club in France, she was TV commentator for one of the most popular live poker tournaments – the World Poker Tour. She has two nominations for the European Poker Awards in the Casino Staff Person of the Year category, which is a great honor.
For two years Isabelle was a poker writer but she quited because she wanted to spend all her time playing poker. Despite the fact that Isabelle is a relatively new player at the poker table she is a pioneer in the poker area. Her job in France permitted her to obtain skills, which are very helpful for her today. When she is playing, everyone is impressed by her aggressive style.
Her first big poker result was in 2002 when she took part in the $800 No Limit Holdem tournament at the Masters Classic of Poker in Amsterdam. The second place added more than $53,000 to her account. But without doubt one of her best tournament results was in World Poker Tour Ladies Night II in 2004 when she competed with some of the best women tournament players in the world and also took home $25,000. One of Isabelle’s notable tournament wins also includes a $56,615 win, when she took part in the WPT World Championship III at the Bellagio in Las Vegas.
In 2005 she participated in the $500 No Limit Holdem European Poker Tour Grand Final in Monte Carlo when she won the first place again taking home more than $30,000. In 2006 she decided to take part in the World Poker Tour Ladies Night No Limit Hold’em and she finished on fifth place.
Today, Isabelle Mercier is a professional poker player with great experience. She is a member of the PokerStars Team and she travels around the world to play in the major poker tournaments. She definitely has a potential and I am sure that she will continue to impress us at the poker tables.
